In Thailand, at a high-level sustainability conference, I had the honor of presenting organic and climate-resilient coffee farming—a practice shaped by both science and personal experience. My journey into organic farming began at Vietnam’s University of Agriculture and Forestry, where I uncovered the deeper realities of chemical-based farming. This realization led me to embrace sustainable, high-quality coffee production—not only as a commitment to the environment but as a strategy to ensure long-term livelihoods for farmers through better product quality and controlled flavor profiles.
Collaboration Across Five Nations
Meeting farmers from five different countries, I quickly realized that sustainability challenges are deeply local yet globally connected. Despite each region facing unique issues, we all shared a need for resilience, knowledge exchange, and stronger networks. Through open discussions, it became clear that collective learning and collaboration could help us identify better solutions together.
Presentation at the Mekong regional conference, where HuyEco’s speaker shares an 8-year journey in organic farming, climate-resilient coffee practices, and community-driven tourism. A real-world voice shaping sustainable agriculture and inspiring regional collaboration.
During this exchange, I witnessed innovative approaches to sustainable farming, including:
✔️ Community-driven agricultural programs—empowering local farmers with technical workshops.
✔️ Urban market integration—helping farmers sell directly to consumers for higher profit margins.
✔️ Climate adaptation strategies, such as raised garden beds to support aging farmers.
✔️ Eco-friendly fertilization, where farmers use native worms to accelerate composting from cow manure, enhancing organic farming.

Thai farmers showcase an innovative raised-bed vegetable system—designed to support aging farmers by making cultivation more accessible and efficient. A smart solution for sustainable agriculture!
Visiting processing facilities and local markets in Chiang Mai, I identified two strategies that could be highly applicable to Vietnam:
1️⃣ Establishing an agricultural enterprise to purchase, process, and add value to raw farm products—ensuring quality control and securing farmers’ incomes.
2️⃣ Urban market connections, enabling farmers to sell directly to city-based consumers—providing higher profits while allowing buyers to meet real farmers and purchase produce free from commercial grading standards.
Both approaches offer paths toward economic sustainability, empowering farmers while preserving their traditional practices.
Proud farmers share their success—higher income through direct sales at agricultural markets! With self-managed financial records, they take control of their earnings, ensuring stability and growth in sustainable farming

🌱 Next Steps – A Stronger, Unified Approach
The Thailand conference reinforced that sustainable farming isn't just an individual effort—it’s a movement that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing. My next goal is to apply these learnings in Vietnam and help bridge the gap between sustainable production and economic growth for local farmers.
