Though HuyEco Farm is no longer in operation, its spirit continues to thrive through HuyEco Coffee and our Da Lat coffee shop. This farm was more than just a place—it was a living classroom, where children learned through experience, touching the earth, and discovering the beauty of sustainable farming.
One of the most unforgettable moments was welcoming over 20 students from Steiner Đồng Xanh Hồ Chí Minh, aged 8-12, for an immersive farm experience. This was not just a field trip—it was a journey of learning through action, where every child became a part of the land they explored.
During their stay at our farm, the students embraced life as true farmers, engaging in hands-on activities such as:
✔ Planting vegetables – Feeling the soil, understanding the life cycle of crops, and witnessing the transformation of nature firsthand.
✔ Composting – Learning how organic waste, despite its unpleasant smell, transforms into rich nutrients that create sweet coffee cherries.
✔ Cooking their own meals – Appreciating the effort behind sustainable food sources and learning the value of fresh, organic ingredients.
✔ Exploring the coffee ecosystem – Understanding how coffee trees thrive in a balanced environment, where insects, grass, and larger trees support and regulate each other.
Beyond farming, the students had a rare chance to experience coffee in a meaningful way. Instead of passive learning, they engaged directly with the beans—sorting, analyzing, and discovering the stories behind each flavor profile.
I personally guided them through the process of coffee selection, explaining why quality depends on careful choices, why organic farming benefits both nature and farmers, and how HuyEco’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in every step of our process.
One of the most eye-opening moments was when I explained how compost—once foul-smelling waste—eventually transforms into the sweetest coffee cherries. The students, despite holding their noses, watched in awe as they realized that nature’s cycles are built on renewal, balance, and care.
To complete their journey, the students observed the roasting process, where green coffee beans undergo a dramatic transformation. They saw how heat unlocks hidden aromas, turning raw beans into the rich, fragrant coffee that adults enjoy daily.
Through this experience, they understood that coffee is not just a drink—it’s a story of patience, balance, and mindful cultivation.
Though HuyEco Farm has closed, its philosophy continues through HuyEco Coffee—where every cup reflects the same dedication to organic farming, sustainability, and ethical production.
